-
- I would like people to observe this. Here we have (assumedly) another
- person from viscorp in our newsgroups assuring us.
-
- It does indeed speak volumes.
-
- I do not belive that any company whose sole interest was in 'gutting' the
- amiga would do this. What would it gain them ? Also, they would not spend
- $40 on a machine in the state of the amiga if they were NOT keen on it.
-
-
- Steve, it will make a great differeance that you appear here like this.
- previously, we have only had a few people from Amiga Technologies comment
- on the companies doings; little was heard from escom bosses in such a 'down
- to earth' manner. People should note this, and note also that you seem
- willing to directly reply to our questions. Keep it up - it has always been
- a point of contention that the 'decision makers' in the amiga's 'life' have
- been alof and distant...
-
- It gives me a renewed sense of hope.
-
- But I think i speak for many when I say it will take deeds to win real
- loyalty.
-
- My advise (if I can be so arrogant), is not to put all your eggs in one
- basket. It may be that set-top boxes go the way of games consoles.
-
-
- Another small point: seems there is some hoopla about the date problem in
- computer software. Seems that many computer programs that bussiness depend
- on are going to go pop at centries end... Some short sightedness..
-
- But i note the amiga has no such foolishness. maybe a small point - but a
- smart company would parade this fact to the world...

-
- That is good to hear. We all so much would like the amiga to be what it
- could be, and developers are central to that happening. They must not just
- do as well as other platforms, but must excell, and innovate. The internet
- itself should be centra to there distribution of software. Combined with
- virtual money (or even just credit cards) distribution and packaging and
- duplication cost could be all but removed entirly. It would also allow
- custom-signed software. And it could allow all this cheaper than pirates
- can be bothered with... But that is another discussion :-)
-
- I might suggest that some of the shareware authors have produced quality
- products, that could be vastly improoved with some encouragement (and
- money), and included as system software, and maybe even part of the OS.
-
- The OS definitly needs TCP/IP built in, and RTG (although I think that is
- in hand with cybergraphx - but if it was in ROM...).

-
- This sounds quite reasonable. many people are panicing - it all happened
- very unexpectedly. People don't like it. They'll settle down - but you must
- cap-off runaway speculation before it destroys things.
